Hannity's America is Not America's America

June 20th 2008 02:22

Fox News is absolutely nothing more than a propaganda spreading outlet and the fact that 100% of our electorate has not realized that is because most of their regular viewers have been hypnotized by the 'fear' string. That is all Fox News does, propel its agenda through the use of outlandish, immoral, and frivolous fear tactics. This channel has absolutely no respect for the fact that Thomas Jefferson proclaimed that the press has a moral obligation to its people to tell the truth about their leaders. However, Fox News has proven that it’s just a puppet and enabler currently of George W. Bush. In turn, they are puppeteers to their 'reporters' as hate mongers like Bill O'reilly, Laura Ingram, and notoriously Sean Hannity are the puppets.
Sean Hannity has to be the most discredited, untruthful, and hateful news figure on the television set every night. Everything he says is negative, and his unfair, negative rhetoric always aims at 'liberals.' Sometimes I wonder if he ever thinks optimistically or has a good night of sleep ever. He attacks and critiques everyone Democratic and never speaks defiantly against his own party. Is not the whole point of journalism to be fair and impartial? Is not the whole American tradition based on speaking out against what is wrong with respect to what is right regardless of your politics? Since when does your own political party do EVERYTHING correct, especially when it is led by our current President. In fact I used to be republican over 10 years ago, but after seeing how W has slashed and burned the republican brand, I started seeing things and candidates not as democratic or republican, but whether things are being done the right way or a wrong way. This is what Hannity does not seem to get through his stubborn skin. He is ready to loop over and over again some crazy reverend’s sermons for about 10 days straight but when McCain has an even worse pastor problem, he falls silent. He still believes Iraq is a necessary war even though numerous intelligence reports and the Senate intelligence report itself proved the nation was lied into war. He keeps distorting the democratic nominee's positions and focuses on some questionable associations, immediately suggesting that Obama is a terrorist sympathizer. How come he will not speak so defiantly against the hundreds of lobbyists running McCain, some of whom who have been ousted by McCain himself for having ties with rogue nations like Myanmar? How come he will not slam McCain for constantly flip=flopping? How come the same anchor who once said on air about a decade ago that Bill Clinton was abusing executive power, will not use the same attack on the president who has usurped executive power more than any president in our great union's history? Doesn't Hannity's America, or at least his take on it, remind you of Hitler's Germany? Propaganda, everything is in black and white philosophy, hate mongering, all seem to be in accord with the old Nazi philosophy. Does Sean Hannity not want affordable healthcare for ALL Americans, not just his friends? What is so liberal or evil about that? Does Hannity ever stop to think that maybe, just maybe these are not liberal or conservative issues, but common sense issues? Does Hannity ever wonder why a tax break to the wealthiest 1% is needed when these people find loopholes to rake money anyway? Does he ever think that a middle class tax cut would be great, and in that sense it's actually the liberals who are tax cutters? Does Hannity ever think that Reagan was not some guru, that the late president made some of the dumbest mistakes in our history, i.e. selling arms for hostages? He has absolutely no standing in calling someone else radical, when he himself is an extremist. What about Hannity's associations with airheads, racists, and hate mongers? Ann Coulter anyone?
The fact is that Hannity doesn't think; he is a pessimist, a puppet, a downright coward. He is quick to ask a whole trail of ridiculous questions to his guests every night, but when will he answer any America's questions, like the ones set forth in this post. Hannity's America is not America's America, because the America I know wants equality and compassion for everyone. Americans are generally optimistic and sympathetic when it comes to life. Hannity on the other hand is pessimistic and unmistakably pathetic.

What bugs the hell out of me is Hannity's bigoted treatment of his own Church's stand on birth control. It's one thing to disagree, and to do so privately; but for Hannity when hypocrisy can rake in millions thanks to a jacking up of ratings.

He loves to play the northeastern urban area Irish Catholic, but he's out of his league and has no business using his Church to prop up his platform if he's then going to rip into Her teachings.

He's a self-hating Catholic anti-Catholic BIGOT. Plain and simple. Give this Benedict Arnold of his kind a white sheet, a pickup truck and a red-clay back country address and that's where he belongs. Hell, I've met Rednecks with less antipathy towards Rome than Hannity's vanity.
