Mccain’s Pastor Association Much More Wrong Than Wright’s Association with Obama

June 18th 2008 14:25

John Mccain Was for Endorsement by Far Right Pastor Before He Was Against it, and Before He was For it Again, but Now He is Against it Again

John Mccain’s association with Pastor Hagee is infinitely worse than Barack Obama’s association with Pastor Wright. While Obama and Wright had a 20 year spiritual relationship, Mccain and Hagee have nothing more than a clear-cut political relationship, one that is completely soaked of far right neo-conservative foreign policy.

John Mccain’s association with Pastor Hagee is infinitely worse than Barack Obama’s association with Pastor Wright. While Obama and Wright a 20 year relationship, Mccain and Hagee have nothing more than a clear-cut relationship, one that is completely soaked of far right neo-conservative foreign policy.
Senator Obama met Pastor Jeremiah Wright around 21 years ago and consequently they developed a strong spiritual relationship because he helped strengthen his faith in God and even further expanded the Divine and philosophical teachings of Jesus Christ upon him. That was the gist of the relationship as explained by the Senator himself numerous times. Now, the controversial snippets of the sermons that the mainstream media has relished over in which Wright yells “God Damn America” and proclaims his moronic conspiracy theories, are no doubt outright disgusting. Before Wright was known as Pastor he was a Marine who fought for our country in Vietnam, so the fact that he could mouth such hate-filled idiocy towards The United States of America in a Church after 09/11/01 should frankly tick off ALL Americans. No matter how much the media is in denial about it, Obama himself has already repudiated, debunked, and basically spit flame on those comments made by this pastor countless times. However, with that being said, since when did Wright become the presidential nominee? Since when did his childish political outbursts ever reflect ANYTHING that has EVER come out of Barack Obama’s mouth? The answer is quite obvious to those who possess at least half a brain. Jeremiah Wright has NO POLITICAL RELATIONSHIP with Barack Obama, case closed. Even to the blind these two men appear as polar opposites. In fact, recent revelations have proved that the outrageous pastor has done a complete 180 on the one guy that used to look up to him, Senator Obama. Wright has been blitzing the media to consensually sabotage the Illinois Senator’s campaign by defending all of his vicious falsehoods about this country, calling Obama a typical politician, and basically tooting his own horn acting like a clown. The Senator responded with his strongest words to date towards anyone and with the fiercest look on his face as he said “The man I saw yesterday was not the man I met 20 years ago.” Obama has officially disowned his pastor, the selfish clown he stood up for in a monumental speech in Philadelphia that ended up backstabbing him at the end. So there it is; Obama says enough is enough to his pastor whom he had no political relationship to begin with anyway but a person that clearly betrayed his spirits.

Now as for Pastor John Hagee and his association with and influence over John Mccain, the consequences could be potentially catastrophic. Of course it would help if the main stream media, also known as the liberal media, would actually balance out the Jeremiah Wright stories with the even worse John Hagee stories so that Americans knew how hate-filled this ‘religious’ guy really is. Wait a minute, did I just place the words ‘media’, ‘balance’, ’ liberal’, and ‘Americans’ all in the same sentence? Who am I kidding?! You would think at least the liberal media would ever so-willfully report a story like this after 8 years of fear mongering policies by the religious right, but they fail yet again. Well let me fill everyone in. John Mccain, contrary to popular opinion, solicited the endorsement of Pastor John Hagee, the founder and senior pastor of Cornerstone Church in San Antonio , Texas , a non-denominational evangelical church . In February 2008 he got that endorsement of course, which was an obvious pander to the religious right conservative wing of the Republican Party that Mccain has had problems courting throughout the last decade. The only problem is that this marriage is nothing but a mere political knot tied with an extremely controversial religious figure. This is far worse than the spiritual tie that Senator Barack Obama had with Wright. Pastor Hagee believes that NEW ORLEANS DESERVED HURRICANE KATRINA as an act of punishment for planning a gay parade on the day the natural disaster hit. Ironically, the exact location of the parade was not even hit. Recently he had a chance to clarify those remarks or even take them back, but instead “What happened in New Orleans looked like the curse of God,” the Texas televangelist told the radio show host. “It was a city that was planning sinful conduct.” However, when Mccain visited New Orleans as recent as the final week of April, 2008, he said of Hagee’s past comments “That’s non-sense.” So how come it wasn’t non-sense 2 years ago? How come the conservatives did not condemn Hagee for making such outrageous, NON-CHRISTIAN statements 2 years ago? Easy, Mccain was not running for the Oval Office then. Nor did he care for the religious right then either, or them for him for that matter. As far as Hagee and Catholics go, he refers to the Catholic Church as ‘The Great Whore,’ an ‘apostate church,’ the ‘anti-Christ,’ and a ‘false cult system.’ To be fair, Mccain has repudiated Hagee’s anti-Catholic comments but only after being pressed by Catholics. As far as Hagee and Islam goes, he believes it is biblical prophecy that a final battle between East and West at Armageddon will then precipitate the Second Coming of Christ . He Believes in a unilateral preemptive strike led by the US and Israel against Iran in a nuclear attack. Hagee believes the Quran states that all Christians and Jews need to be killed. Hagee interprets the Bible to predict that Russia and the Islamic states will invade Israel and will be destroyed by God . Now the question is do Hagee’s views parallel Mccain’s? Well maybe not entirely, but we all remember the now infamous “Bomb Bomb Bomb Iran” song from John Mccain’s Greatest Hits Collection which is probably in Hagee’s tape deck right now. Also, let us not forgot how grossly influential the religious neo-conservatives have been in the Bush administration and what implications that could have in a potential Mccain administration. Furthermore, isn’t it ironic that after getting the endorsement of religious right leader Hagee that Mccain a few weeks later ties Iran to Al-Qaeda in Iraq by so confidently and wrongly stating that they are training them and sending them back into Iraq? Was that a mere gaffe? Sure, if only he hadn’t confused Shiites and Sunnis twice more in the next 10 days and again at the Senate Armed Services Committee hearing before General Petraeus on April 8, 2008. The totality of all the ‘gaffes’ and when they occurred seems a little too convenient to say the least, especially since Senator Mccain was not born yesterday. He definitely had enough time to do his homework after the first time he misspoke, so the only logical explanation is that the neo-cons and the religious right are in fact drilling their agenda into him, the byproduct of a powerful endorsement like Hagee’s. This is in fact a worry among many of the so called pragmatists of the Republican Party, that Mccain is being influenced by the far right wing of the party known as the Neo-cons, the ones that have ruled the Bush administration. In fact, this was a story that was reported in The New York Times back in April 10. “It may be too strong a term to say a fight is going on over John McCain’s soul,” said Lawrence Eagleburger, a secretary of state under the first President George Bush, who is a member of the pragmatist camp. “But if it’s not a fight, I am convinced there is at least going to be an attempt. I can’t prove it, but I’m worried that it’s taking place.” The Mccain camp denies such influence but nothing can be clearer, with the exception of crystal that his campaign is in pure denial. It is time for the Arizona Republican Senator, the way Obama has disowned his pastor whom he has had a non-political association with, to completely disown Pastor Hagee.

In a recent interview with Sean Hannity buddy George Stephanopoulos in April, when asked “ So was it a mistake to solicit and accept his endorsement?” Mccain responded “Oh, probably. Sure.” When followed up with “So you no longer want his endorsement?” Mr. Straight Talk responded “I’m glad to have his endorsement. I condemn remarks that are in any way viewed as anti-anything. And thanks for asking.” However a couple months later, after a tape exposing Hagee suggesting Adolf Hitler was sent by God as a "hunter," McCain claimed he never heard of it and of course shred Hagee's endorsement.

And thank you for clearing that up for us Senator Mccain. All aboard The Straight Talk Express!

Go after Hannity, I'm with you. But didn't McCain and Hagee part ways after McCain got the full picture on Hagee's bigotry against Catholics, Jews and Muslims?

But McCain's earlier eagerness to grab Hagee's vote-grabbing potential power for his team does raise questions.
